ESCUELITA ANTIRRACISTA
Decolonial and anti-racist education
One of the Kilombo's greatest bets is education as a transformative tool that allows for the transmission of knowledge, in a horizontal, dialectical perspective that allows the recognition of each person's knowledge. We believe that knowledge not only encompasses theoretical knowledge that emanates from traditional academic instances, but also ancestral knowledge that has been repressed, and affective experiences that also produce knowledge about oneself and the society in which we exist.

Resistencia económica
Economic resistance
Considering the existence of various racist and xenophobic obstacles faced by Afro-descendant communities, both in the workplace and in education, we aim to provide opportunities to strengthen the business initiatives within the Afro-descendant community. We have held arts and crafts fairs with calls for black businesses and artists, promoting marketing spaces and support networks between artisans, artists and entrepreneurs.

Resistencia cultural
Cultural resistance
Cultural resistance refers to promoting the various artistic expressions, crafts, practices and commemorations from various regions of Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa. We have carried out several instances of promoting these Afro-diasporic cultures, emphasizing performative, visual, plastic arts, gastronomic culture, spirituality, and everything that is encompassed by the Afro-descendant ancestry.

Incidencia social e institucional
Social and institutional impact
We have been in charge of creating and strengthening links in various institutional and governmental spaces to put the needs and contributions of the black community on the agenda. We have been in instances mediated by the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality, anti-racist working groups and commemorations of the Afrodiasporic Women's Day in Latin America and the Caribbean. We have also connected with feminist, migrant and anti-racist organizations to increase the impact of our activities.
ESCUELITA ANTIRRACISTA
Territorial work
We are convinced that territorial work is essential to genuinely connect with our community. We have carried out forums, educational and awareness-raising interventions regarding anti-racism, and also support initiatives in contexts of response to crises and emergencies that affect our communities.

Racial Awareness
Racial self-recognition has been one of the main pillars throughout our history. The processes of national identity in the country are marked by a vision of white-mestizo heritage, erasing the presence of black people who arrived in Chile as a result of transatlantic trafficking and their enslavement. Due to this, we have focused on promoting knowledge about the various expressions of Afro-descendants in the country, which encompasses both migrants and Afro-Chileans, in their different physical and cultural characteristics. On the other hand, throughout the development of our work methodologies, we have identified expressions of internalized colonialism and racism, which teaches us that the racist structure isn’t only perpetrated by white people, but also by people of African descent. This translates into difficulties of black people proudly recognizing their race and culture. In this context, our workshops, forums and interventions have been essential in our aim to promote the racial self-recognition of our people.
